LO1: Apply organisational communication protocol to convey care results and goals to clients or caregivers LO2: Adapt a communication style to suit the client’s health literacy in explaining therapy results and plans LO3: Demonstrate types of trust-building techniques to develop rapport with clients or caregivers. 

LO4: Facilitate treatment and discharge planning with clients or caregivers in a culturally sensitive manner to meet their needs 

LO5: Provide counselling and communication support to convey care outcomes that meet clients’ needs. LO6: Apply oral communication and active listening skills to manage sensitive information in line with ethical and legal requirements

Minimum Entry Requirement

Language and Literacy Proficiency Level 

Candidates must demonstrate the practical application of English listening and speaking skills, meeting the standards of the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3. 

This proficiency should be evident in the candidate’s ability to comprehend and articulate ideas clearly in professional and operational contexts within the Healthcare industry.  


Target Age Group 

The course is designed for individuals who are 21 years and older, acknowledging the rich experience this demographic brings to the learning environment. The curriculum is tailored to build upon their existing knowledge base, focusing on applying skills in practical workplace scenarios.  


Minimum Education Level 

The minimum education requirement is secondary school education, ensuring that all participants have a foundational academic skill set to build upon.
